A lot of people think that the PSP GO is a rip off. The main features presented at the E3 were the lack of UMD, replaced by downloadable games. Well guess what: there is more.
Turns out the PSP GO has a faster processor than the current PSP: up to 40% more! (source). What does that mean for gamers? Well, better looking games for sure, and faster loading times or internet browsing too, but improved battery life is also a possibility.
Seems like Sony is sending a clear message here: we are the main destination for gamers, in terms of portability, competing iwth an upgrade DS (DSi) and iPhone (iPhone 3Gs). Let's see if the game line up is worth it in the coming month.
The PSP GO is scheduled to be released on October 1st 2009 worldwide.
